Do I need pro monitoring with my alarm?
No. You can self-monitor from the app and get every alert on your phone for $20/mo. Pro monitoring ($40/mo) adds a real dispatch center that verifies the alarm and calls police or fire if you can't respond — useful for cabins, travel, or anyone who'd rather not be the first responder.
How long does install take?
Most Wasatch Front homes finish in a single visit — usually two to four hours depending on the size of the home and number of sensors. Larger homes or cabins with hard-to-reach windows may take a second visit.
Will it work if power goes out?
Yes. Every YCK panel has battery backup, and the system communicates over cellular as well as Wi-Fi. If the power drops or your internet goes down, the alarm still arms, still trips, and still reaches our monitoring center.
Can I arm/disarm it from my phone?
Yes. Arm and disarm from the app, the wall panel, the keypad by the door, or by voice if you've connected a smart speaker. You can also set automatic schedules — arm at bedtime, disarm in the morning — so it runs itself.
What if my pet sets it off?
Our motion sensors are pet-friendly and tuned to ignore animals up to about 80 pounds. We'll calibrate them during install based on your pets, and you can also exclude specific rooms from motion-arming when you're home.
What happens when an alarm triggers?
On self-monitor, you get an instant phone alert with which sensor tripped, and you can pull up camera footage to verify. On pro monitoring, our dispatch center verifies the alarm, calls you, and sends local police or fire if needed — typically within 30–60 seconds.
